Pendant in Montana agate with 925 Sterling Silver. This pendant is set with a Montana agate in the shape of a teardrop. The Montana agate is formed as a result of volcanic eruptions and massive lava flows in the Yellowstone Park area. Montana Agate is formed from chalcedony, one of many types of quartz. Chalcedony has a waxy sheen and can be semi-transparent or translucent. The effects of ferns, trees, bushes and mountain scenes come from small channels within the stones that allow the mineral-laden water to filter into the stone over centuries creating these wonderful scenes. It is 3.6 by 2.6 cm. The back is completely closed with silver and the total length of the pendant is 5.1 cm. It is handcrafted.
